so, mcm mane perasaan ari nie? happy? sedih? berdukacita? bermuram durja? hihi no no no..jum kite happy2 kan diri.. ok lah, untuk entry kali ni, aq nk update pasal last week punye kelas..topik yang kitorang belajar adalah mengenai 'PROSES PEMBANGUNAN MULTIMEDIA'..sebagai intro, kalo seorang architect nk bina rumah mesti ade plan kan? die kene tau bape keluasan tanah, bape luas rumah, bape bilik nk buat, ruang tmu besar mane..betul x? so same lah dengan pembangun2 multimedia..diorang kene plan betul2 sebelum membangunkan sesuatu multimedia courseware nie..kalo nk bina rumah plak kene follow specific procedure rite kalo x rumah boleh roboh..same lah jugak nk bina multimedia courseware, kene iku specific rule dan jugak process yang dah ditetapkan so that ape yg kite plan nk buat akan berjalan dengan lancarnye..hihihi oleh yang demikian, apakah process ataupun procedure yang perlu untuk membangunkan multimedia courseware? (walaweyhh, skema nye ayat kite..hihi). ok, now lets we take a look for a while..

Seperti yang aq difahamkan, proses cycle based on diagram above actually suitable for company. tp if kite nk follow pun ok jugak..xde masalah..=) let me explain all the steps based on my understanding during the class ok..hihi hopefully korang faham lah ye..

1- Client request

Untuk step nie, as for company they will have a request for their client..ape yg diorg nak, design yang mcm mane, ape keperluan, siape pengguna, and etc. but as for individual yang bangunkan mulrimedia courseware in their research, diorg kene tau ape ciri2 yang perlu ade dlm courseware yang nk dibina yang mana ianya berlainan dengan courseware yang lain. so we have to be more creative to create something yang meet our user ability so that it will help then enhance their learning.

2- Define the project Scope

For the scope of project, we must determine the certain topics and focus on the subtopics. we cannot do all the topics in a single multimedia courseware. Bukan ape..takut nnt a liitle berterabur bagai..last2 developer yang pening kepala sampai muntah kuning..sape nk jawap? hihi tp betul, bile kite scope kan kite punye subtopik it is much2 more better. jangan tamak ok sume benda nk kaut..hihi walaupun terer mane kite sekali pun..hihi

3- Project Proposal

Step yang nie, kite kene buat proposal lah..proposal untuk memberitahu ape yang kite akan buat dan ape yang kite cover untuk project kite. so proposal nie sebenar nye boleh lead untuk kite nk bangunkan kite nye courseware..sbb ade objektif dan jugak lain..erm lebih kurang mcm frame work..hihi



4- Contract


This kind of contract sebenarnye more to the company..if proposal yang diorang buat tue dipersetujui oleh client so diorang akan buat satu contract agreement antara company and client. Agreement nie melibatkan PnC company la dan jugak product yang dihasilkan. p/s: PnC - Private and Confidential.


dan sometimes if one of the party broke the agreement in any what manner, boleh kene disaman. and agreement yang di stamp hasil sah dibawa ke court. REMEMBER!!!

5- Detailed Specification


mcm mane nk explain eh? erm ok mcm nie, bile kite nk develop tue kene ade specific detail mengenai ape yang nk dibangunkan dan mcm mane ianye meet students requirement. So everything we are going to do should have the specification. It will make us easier. at the same time can lead the path.


6- Design Phase


Based on our analysis and everything, we try to come out with the design. dalam design nie ape yang need to take into account firstly is the content..ape content yang kite nk masukkan..mcm mane nk create something utk deliver the content so that bende tue sampai pada pelajar. we also need to know platform, media which is ape yang kite nk masukkan dalam courseware yang nk dibangunkan, dr segi interface pulak, warna yang ingin digunakan so that dapat attract students.


7- Team formation recruitment

untuk process yang nie, usually if kite buat in team kite kene form team lah..and each of team.member have their own task..mmg kene bijak membahagikan masa..meaning to say after fotm the team kene ade work schedule and jugak deadline untuk makesure everything is handled carefully... 

 8- Production 

 untuk production nie pulak, pada kefahaman sy bile dah setel form the group and masing2 ade task sendiri so they will work out to produce learning courseware. dalam erti kate lain mule membangunkan courseware yang telah dibincangkan. 

 9- Integration 

 setelah siap sume bahagian, usually the leader akan tetapkan deadline bile nak combine kan all the part in one..so when reach the deadline, all the team akan berkumpul and hand in their product untuk dicombinekan..dan seat together utk recheck anything so that there will be no problem.. 

 10- Testing 

 dah selesai combine..we need to test our product so that can improve untuk elakkan defect kepada client. testing nie actually sgt penting..kalo kite buat sesuatu product without testing..mmg syk sendiri la..hihi 

 11- Sign off and delivery 

 so dah siap sume then kite boleh distribute lah kepada mereka yang berminat or our client..the way we form the product is via cd-rom..thats it..hihi

Ok. for the second phase, we look into mutlimedia development process. It is quite differ with multimedia life cycle because multimedia life cycle explain to us about the overall about the development of product form the begining till the end. But, multimedia development process is more about process yang perlu dibuat dalam membangunkan courseware. The diagram for multimedia development process as below;

if we look into the diagram above, it is more focusing on the planning stage. actually in develop any courseware, planning is important. we should plan everything properly and act according to what we plan to do so that our work is in line. so in this phase, as a developer we should have a planning. Planning in term of goals, objectives, budget, expertise, schedule, resources, tasking, and so on which are related to our courseware development. for design, we should plan properly our courseware design in order to meet what user need and expected. so here, we should plan the design and everything related to that on the storyboard. my question is "WHAT IS THE STORYBOARD?". So, after googling and reading, by using my own word and understanding i could say that storyboard is like our screen which shows the layout, design, the flow of the courseware from the home screen till the end screen, an explaination of each particular things we put into our screen, also include the instrcution. Further info about storyboard i'll explain in the next entry ya..sbb xmasuk lagi bab nie..next2 week baru touch this topic..be patient ok..hihi ^_^

TIMELINE

hurmm ape ye timeline?..my lecturer also talk about deadline..what is TIMELINE? DEADLINE? what is the difference between both? any ideas??? as usual i pun googling lah lagi sekali..ape yg i dapat, timeline is the way we display graphic image in chronologically. it also has been labelled with the time, date and so on. usually we will see in the video. which at the bottom of the video it has a long bar and it always moves till the end. we can move the timeline to go forward or backward. for example in you tube.

then, we focusing on the term deadline. What is deadline?? when we talk about deadline, it is about the time limit. so in a simple word the deadline is when is our courseware should be complete at all. it is like a gant chart. look at the example below:

Dalam multimedia development process jugak we talk about the instructional design model. there are a lot of ID model that we can refer to such as ADDIE model, Hannafin & Peck model, Waterfall model, Dick and Carey model and so on. but, we need to choose one of the ID model to be followed as a guideline in order to develop our courseware. Most of the developer choose ADDIE model as their ID model for the courseware development. it is because the first stage of this model is ANALYSIS. so here, we could say that analysis is more important. why? because in this analysis phase we as a developer need to analyze every single things. therefore, what is the requirement in this stage? first of all, we should know who is our target user for our courseware, the reasons why we should develop this kind of courseware, then we analyse the content of our courseware, the resource we get the info, the estimation time to produce the courseware, expertixe we used, and also about the platform used to develop courseware, market the product (courseware) and also analyse on the distribution of the product. Everything is need to take into account. So, finally, multimedia development process needs a better plan so that it will running smoothly. we as a developer should consider everything in order to develop the best courseware. hence, this entry will end up here..wait for the next lesson ok guys..hehehe

Minggu pertama nie kitorang belaja pasal Types of Instructional Software..Ok guys..ape yg korang faham mengenai CAI or Multimedia Learning Courseware? ok secara ringkas nye aq boleh nyatakan disini CAI @ multimedia learning courseware is an interactive instructional technique whereby a computer is used to present the knowledge or information during teaching and learning process. Maksudnye sini, as a teacher xpayah susah2 gunekan whiteboard or blackboard untuk mengajar. menggunakan tools seperti komputer or courseware yang boleh membantu proses P&P lebih interaktif dan sekaligus dapat menarik minat murid untuk belajar. Just imagine if teacher's teaching style just like chalk and talk, students might feel such a boring class..so as a teacher kene enhance the way we teach..maybe need some improvement on teaching style..so as we know sekarang nie dah canggih right? internet dihujung jari je..so skrg nie kene lah gune teknologi..thats why lah wujudnye perkataan CAI and multimedia learning courseware..penggunaan komputer sebagai alat bantu mengajar dan jugak penggunaan courseware dalam proses pembelajaran untuk membuatkan proses pembelajaran sangat menarik.
Untuk multimedia learning courseware or CAI ade banyak types of instructional software..antaranya adalah;

a) Drill and Practice

Untuk instructional software yang nie actually more reinforce in concept. Then will be provided with the exercise. So based on the exercise given kite akan dapat feedback mengenai kefahaman murid samada die faham dengan concept yang dipelajari atau pun tak..dari situ kite sbg guru kene buat pembaharuan untuk tgk improvement murid. Basically, Drill and Practice nie actually one of the instructional software yang membantu murid untuk menguasai sesuatu concept dgn baik. Drill is like repetitive..maksudnye membuat sesuatu berulang-ulang..selagi xfhm kite ulang n ulang n ulang sampai dapat..lebih kurang mcm tue lah..For instance, flashcard activity..

b) Tutorials

For this type of instructional software, it use the computer to deliver an entire instructional sequence similar to a teacher's classroom instruction on the topics. Erm korg penah x belajar gune komputer? pastue kan ade soalan yang kene jawap..kalau korg jawap betul akan keluar tahniah, congrats n so on..kalo korg jwp salah akan keluar please try again, cuba lagi dan lain-lain..ade kan? haaa mcm tue la lebih kurang tutorial nie..xyah susah2 nk jwp gune pen pensel or kertas..cume bazirkan sket bil elektrik je gune komputer tp lebih menarik..hihihi ade plak setengah tue yang korang kene jwp dalam masa yang diperuntukkan..hihi agak mencabar jugak..so mcm2 lah jenis yg ade..


c) Simulation

This instructional software is more too computer where it will computerized model of a real or imagined system designed to teach how a system works. Unlike drill and tutorials that are structured into a package, simulations allow students to create their own sequence. For instance, physical, literature, procedural, situations etc.


d) Instructional Games

Untuk perisian ni, ape yang aku faham lah kan, kite create multimedia learning courseware based on gaming. Kadang2, dengan instructional software mcm nie dapat attract students punye perhatian dalam pembelajaran. This kind of instructional software really different from others. For instance, we try to develop multimedia learning course ware in term of gaming but still for the learning purpose. It is much more interesting. At the same time can attract students' interest on learning. As we realized nowadays our students more prefer to something that can attract them into learning rather than using chalk and talk.


e) Problem Solving


This kind of software were used to construct student's idea in order to solve the problem. It is relatively sophisticated mental activity that is difficult to learn and that is highly idiosyncratic. In order to solve the problem given it is depend on the students knowledge prior to experience, and motivations and many other attributes.
